MICHAEL JOHNSON
Chief Executive Officer
As Chief Executive Officer, Michael sets the strategic vision and drives growth through a disciplined approach to operations, acquisitions, and performance. With extensive experience leading and transforming complex healthcare organizations, he is advancing a different kind of revenue cycle organization, one grounded in experienced leadership, accountability, and execution. By integrating exceptional service with technology and AI, the organization delivers scalable performance and consistent financial outcomes for healthcare providers. Michael brings a proven track record of growing and optimizing revenue cycle businesses. Prior to Sustainable, he served as Portfolio Manager for Harris Healthcare, a division of Constellation Software, where he led the Resolv Healthcare portfolio of revenue cycle companies and executed multiple acquisitions to drive growth and operational alignment. He joined Harris through the acquisition of PracticeMax, where he served as Chief Executive Officer. Prior to that, he held senior leadership roles including Senior Vice President of Operations and Vice President of Global Strategy, where he led initiatives to expand global delivery capabilities, including offshore operations in the Philippines and partnerships across India and the Philippines. Throughout his career, he has focused on leading organizations through strategic vision, operational discipline, and execution. Michael holds an MBA from the Kelley School of Business and a Master of Global Management from the Thunderbird School of Global Management. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Political Science from the University of Utah.
JANET BOOS
Chief Revenue Officer
Janet Boos is a seasoned healthcare executive with more than 25 years of experience leading high-growth organizations across revenue cycle management and healthcare technology. As Chief Revenue Officer of Sustainable, she is responsible for driving enterprise growth strategy, expanding market presence, and aligning sales, operations, and client success to deliver measurable financial outcomes for clients. Janet brings a unique combination of entrepreneurial leadership and large-scale operational expertise. She co-founded CHMB, Inc., where she built one of the nation’s leading privately held revenue cycle organizations, growing the company through organic expansion, acquisitions, and strategic partnerships before its successful acquisition by Allscripts (now Veradigm). Following the acquisition, Janet served as Vice President & General Manager of Revenue Cycle Services at Veradigm, where she led large-scale operations across global teams, vendor strategy, and technology innovation. Throughout her career, she has led multiple acquisitions, scaled national service delivery models, and introduced advanced analytics and automation into revenue cycle operations, with a consistent focus on performance, accountability, and building high- performing teams that consistently deliver results. At Sustainable, Janet is focused on building a next-generation revenue cycle platform, combining technology, expert execution, AI and data-driven insights to help healthcare organizations optimize performance, scale efficiently, and maximize revenue.
PAULA KACSIR
Chief Operating Officer
Paula Kacsir is Chief Operating Officer at Sustainable, where she leads the design and execution of the company’s operating model—driving scalable service delivery, operational discipline, and measurable client outcomes. She is responsible for designing and aligning the operating structure, workflows, and technology that drive accountability, performance, and consistent client outcomes. Paula is known for building high-performing operations in complex, high-growth environments. She has established a client-centric model structured around Customer Success Managers who are accountable for outcomes, supported by a comprehensive performance management framework and regular executive reviews, with clear accountability for client outcomes. Her approach ensures consistency, transparency, and continuous improvement across the client base while enabling the organization to scale efficiently. Paula brings more than 30 years of experience in revenue cycle management across hospitals and provider practices. She previously served as Vice President of Operations at CHMB, where she played a key role in scaling the organization through internal growth and acquisitions, supporting its successful acquisition by Allscripts (now Veradigm). Following the acquisition, she served as Vice President of Operations within Veradigm’s Revenue Cycle division, overseeing large-scale service delivery across both domestic and offshore teams within a publicly traded healthcare technology company. Paula has also held leadership roles within a large hospital health system, including Senior Director of Professional Billing at Scripps Health. Throughout her career, she has been recognized for her ability to structure operations that balance quality, efficiency, and profitability—leveraging technology, data, and skilled resources to deliver strong, consistent results.
MAHMOUD MAKKI
Chief Technology Officer
Mahmoud Makki is a seasoned IT leader and Healthcare Management expert with over 25 years of experience spanning Information Technology, cybersecurity, and Digital Transformation, including more than 15 years focused within the healthcare sector. He brings a strategic, systems-level perspective shaped by leadership across both healthcare provider organizations and revenue cycle management companies. A certified PRINCE2 Project Manager, Data Protection and GDPR Officer, Change Manager, and Physician Practice Manager, Mahmoud combines technical expertise with strong governance, compliance, and transformation capabilities. As the founder of The Coding Company and The Coding Academy, Mahmoud drives innovation at the intersection of clinical coding, technology, and workforce development, with a focus on operational excellence, regulatory compliance, and scalable healthcare solutions. With a global career spanning the UK, Europe, the United States, Australia, and the Middle East, Mahmoud brings a uniquely international perspective on healthcare systems, digital transformation, and revenue optimization.
KATHERINE FAUSAK
Director of Finance
Katherine Fausak is Director of Finance at Sustainable, where she oversees financial operations, reporting, and performance management across the organization. She is responsible for providing visibility into financial performance, supporting strategic decision-making, and ensuring alignment between financial outcomes and operational execution. Katherine plays a key role in supporting the company’s growth by establishing financial discipline and scalable processes that enable sustainable expansion. She partners closely with executive leadership and operations to monitor performance, manage forecasting, and ensure the organization is positioned to meet both short- and long-term financial objectives. She brings a strong foundation in financial management, with experience supporting high-growth environments and building processes that improve accuracy, transparency, and efficiency. Her approach emphasizes collaboration, accountability, and the use of data to drive informed business decisions. Katherine holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA).
SUSAN ARIOLA
Vice President of Human Resources
Susan is the Vice President of Human Resources, leading the global HR organization and working closely with other executive leadership to align talent strategies with overarching business objectives. She is focused on strengthening HR capabilities that sustain long-term growth and advance key strategic priorities, including acquisitions and international expansion. With more than 30 years of experience designing and executing human capital strategies across a broad range of organizations - from emerging startups to Fortune 100 and Fortune 500 companies - Susan has built, scaled, and led HR functions in dynamic, rapidly evolving environments. She has successfully developed HR infrastructures for expanding enterprises and directed large, sophisticated teams within complex global organizations. Her experience encompasses every facet of human resources, with a significant portion of her career in the healthcare sector, including skilled nursing and rehabilitation facilities, large dental organizations, and a leading medical and pharmacy insurance provider. Susan excels in driving organizational growth through mergers and acquisitions, navigating multifaceted workforce challenges, leading integration during periods of rapid expansion, and advancing HR technology strategies that leverage data and innovation to enhance operational excellence and the employee experience.
ALIX SKALICKY
Vice President of Coding
Alix Skalicky is Vice President of Coding at Sustainable, where she leads coding operations, compliance strategy, and workflow optimization across the organization. She partners closely with operations and technology teams to advance coding accuracy, scalability, and performance, including the development of AI-assisted coding solutions. Alix brings more than three decades of healthcare experience, with a career that began on the front lines of patient access and evolved into executive leadership. Starting in hospital radiology and physician practice settings, she developed a comprehensive understanding of the revenue cycle from intake through reimbursement. She went on to lead physician practice operations and transitioned into consulting and revenue cycle leadership roles, where she specialized in coding compliance, billing integrity, and HIPAA oversight. Throughout her career, Alix has built and led high-performing teams, including developing international coding operations and scalable delivery models. She is known for her ability to connect people, process, and technology, creating environments where both teams and clients succeed. Alix holds a Bachelor of Communication from Arizona State University and a Master’s in Education from Northern Arizona University. She maintains multiple industry certifications and is deeply committed to continuous learning, leadership development, and advancing coding excellence. Her focus is on building systems and teams that allow healthcare providers to focus on patient care while ensuring accuracy, compliance, and financial performance.
JARED PETERSEN
Vice President of Sales
Jared Petersen is Vice President of Sales at Sustainable, where he leads growth strategy, business development, and client engagement. He is responsible for accelerating revenue through new client acquisition and expansion within existing accounts, aligning solutions to client needs to deliver measurable, long-term financial outcomes. Jared brings more than 15 years of healthcare experience across sales, clinical, and revenue cycle services. Known for his consultative, performance-driven approach, he partners with clients to identify operational gaps, implement scalable solutions, and unlock revenue across the revenue cycle. Prior to Sustainable, Jared held a leadership role at Code Quick, where he built and led sales and client services, establishing all revenue-generating functions from the ground up. He drove rapid growth by launching new service lines, introducing software and product innovations, and developing strategic partnerships that expanded market reach. Through a collaborative approach, he aligned sales execution with operations to scale efficiently, helping position Code Quick as one of the fastest-growing companies in Utah and earning recognition in the Utah 100 for two consecutive years. Jared holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Westminster University. He also studied Business Management and was a collegiate soccer player at Utah Valley University.
